Why The Name Gray Panthers?
About our name…The word panther expresses our willingness to be radical and action oriented. The word gray does not necessarily stand for gray hair – it means the mingling of all kinds of people; rich, poor, black, white all working together in common effort to make our whole society more responsive. The word gray is also an affirmation of the dignity of aging.
